Where have I been?

Where have I been? Good question. I’ve been practicing “SOARING”.

I did not expect to write an article today. I was not sure I would ever write another one here. I even thought about starting a new blog site, and start from scratch. There is plenty here for people to read if they have an interest, why add more to something so few people really read? I mean, so many “likes” and no comments? Really?

However, I stumbled onto a blogsite that kind of got my juices flowing, and you know how it is when you feel like you need to write. I was actually checking out a Writer’s Conference I hope to go to, when I found this Pastor/blogger. He had an article on prayer, and you may have noticed my blogging diminished as I created what I have been calling “Prayer School”. I have learned there is such a great way to live! A lifestyle that is more like the chess player that can win in three moves rather than the ten moves a novice would take.

I left a comment on his site, but I wanted to say more. I had to refrain myself, because I have written a story on this very subject, and I don’t want to let too much of the cat out of the bag, until I have it ready. Know what I mean? I call it a children’s story ” for Adults”. I think the title will be “The Little Bird that Couldn’t”. That title sounds so familiar. I’m not done checking it out yet. But…it’s about a raven named “Flapless”, a wren named “Goliath”, and a three-legged turtle named “Tripod”, but he gets a name change I cannot mention yet.

So yes, here is an unexpected article about prayer. Yes, Prayer School is up and running. I am now remodeling our bathroom so it can match how nice our prayer room (Eagle Mountain) is. It’s a big job.

So far the dedication to Prayer School has been met with the typical enthusiasm that modern-day Christians have for the subject of prayer. We meet after our Church service on the first and third Sundays. We push our dinner plate back for two hours. It’s just for men. Our church is small, and I have two dedicated supporters. One for each of the two Sundays. It is somewhat of a “thankless” ministry, but that does not matter, I know what God has shown me, and I believe great things will come of it. I believe a great move of God is coming to the Church, it will be a quick-work, and so when it happens it will be those who are ready that gets to ride the curl of this massive wave!

In Isaiah 40:31 > God gave us a supernatural formula showing us a lifestyle of “Less flapping and more Soaring” That is what my children’s story for adults is about. Paul said he still had to speak to them as children. God has given me such a story.

The odds are greatly stacked against an unknown author in today’s environment. Things don’t look good for the raven called, Flapless, but I’ve decided he is where I want to be, whether it is popular, or not. Praise, Prayer, and Promises. You don’t need a lot of flapping when you understand and practice the 3-P’s. It’s all in the story. Hope people get to read it some day. Say a prayer my way. I welcome it.

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

This is a supernatural lifestyle of more soaring, and less flapping.

“What does my Soul need?”

Dedicated to all those who don’t believe they have a soul.

I’ve had this poem tucked away for a while now, hesitant to make it public, but something someone said recently prompted me to put it out there, so here it is.

My greatest treasure, my soul.

          What powers this body?

My soul.

          What enters heaven?

My soul.

Because of my soul,

I choose to live in Spirit.

What would anything profit me if I

          were to lose my soul?

My greatest treasure, my soul.

          My greatest priority, my soul.

God’s Word is food to my soul.

God’s Spirit is water to my soul.

God’s Presence is air my soul breathes.

Jesus completes my soul,

I am Bride of the Lamb.

          I am a Samurai Bride.

Every day I should ask myself,

          “What does my soul need?”

To eat, to drink, to breathe?

Yes, all of these and more.

To love in God’s love. Amen.

“Are You a Glimpse of the Future NOW?”

0908121414

“By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:” (Heb 11:9)

“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.” (Heb 11:8)

Just the other day I was surprised by a comment relating to an article I wrote many moons ago called. “What Kind of Warrior?” I’m always excited when I get any kind of comments because my site has never been strong in that area. I go to people’s sites who seem to attract comments like bees to honey and I stare in amazement. But I must write what God gives me and so I press on like a good soldier and take what I get. (And I thank the Lord for each one.

Anyway, someone commented out of the blue on an old article that I had to reread to even remember what it said. His comment did not seem to be about the actual article as much as a certain “point” he wanted to make. If I understood him right, he was upset that because I believe faith in Christ to be the only way to God, then I was arrogant because I was telling half the world they are wrong and I am right.

I had been very careful to answer his comment in a way that only said this is what “I” am convinced of for myself, but every person must be very careful to search their own heart for that answer. I do not claim to be God and be all-knowing, but after many years of testing the Bible, there is no doubt in “my own mind”. Let each person determine for themselves, but be very diligent in your quest! But all this person could say was, You are arrogant, you are arrogant, you are arrogant. (Sheesh.)

I stopped commenting after the third comment because I have been in these circular conversations before, and this is what I have learned:

EITHER SOMEONE IS “ATTRACTED” TO CHRIST, OR THEY ARE NOT.

If I have presented the Gospel of Christ and someone is “OFFENDED”, rather than “EXCITED”, then I know they are not ready yet, and possibly may never be. Scripture says that Jesus came to his own, and his own received him not. Jesus is light, but not everyone desires his light. There is something very different between those of us who are “attracted”, and those who are “offended”.

SO WHAT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY HERE? CONTINUE TO BE LIGHT!

HERE’S A REALLY NEAT THING MAYBE YOU HAVE NOT THOUGHT ABOUT. > God sent Abraham to his “FUTURE” possession before it was his possession. So in essence, he was living in his FUTURE in his PRESENT! Now what does that mean?

HE WAS INVADING HIS PRESENT WITH GOD’S FUTURE!

HERE’S THE THING: > Among other lessons that could be taught from this truth, every time a Canaanite saw Abraham and his family, God was showing that Canaanite the FUTURE! Abraham could walk up to that Canaanite and say, “You should join me, not fight me, because God is giving me your land, and I am the future of this territory. You are seeing a glimpse of the future in me.

WHEN A CANAANITE SAW ABRAHAM HE WAS SEEING THE FUTURE! HE WAS SEEING A GLIMPSE OF THE FUTURE INVADING HIS PRESENT, AND IF HE WAS WISE HE WOULD JOIN ABRAHAM, NOT ATTACK HIM.

I’m keeping this message short, but I hope you see the possibilities of invading your present with God’s future NOW! Our father Abraham did it, and set the example for us. Jesus did it constantly!

The person who accused me of being someone judging the world, that is not my job to do. That has already been done. But if you’re smart, you will realize God is giving you a glimpse of the future. I am a testimony of the goodness of God. How God loves us so much that he sent a perfect Savior to redeem us from a very real spiritual cancer called SIN! Jesus is God’s cure, and without Christ, the cancer is always terminal. If you are not attracted to a book, “the Bible”, that reveals such a God to us, then I can only hope that you are some day.

MY SOUL IN ME REJOICES IN THAT GREAT LOVE AND TRUTH. THERE IS SOMETHING DIFFERENT BETWEEN YOU AND I IF YOU ARE OFFENDED IN IT. OUR REACTION TO THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST REVEALS WHOSE WE ARE.

I WILL ALWAYS TRY TO HELP SOMEONE SEE, IF THEY TRULY WANT TO SEE. BUT IT USUALLY BECOMES OBVIOUS RATHER QUICKLY IF SOMEONE JUST WANTS TO FIND FAULT.

THE CANAANITES NEVER REALIZED WHAT A BLESSING ABRAHAM COULD HAVE BEEN TO THEM. A DOORWAY TO KNOW HIS GOD.

PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS WANTING TO SEE THE FUTURE, BUT SO MANY TIMES GOD SHOWS IT TO THEM, AND THEY FAIL TO BELIEVE. THE FUTURE OFFENDS THEM, AND THEY STUMBLE OVER THE ROCK OF CHRIST. A STONE OF OFFENSE, A STONE OF STUMBLING.

THIS IS WHY THE APOSTLES STUCK TO THE GOSPEL SO MUCH. BECAUSE IT REVEALS SO QUICK. PEOPLE EITHER RECEIVE OR DENY. SHAKE THE DUST FROM YOUR FEET AND MOVE ON. (If they did not kill you. I love blogging. It is so much safer witnessing from a safe distance. LOL!)

“Prayer Habit?”

Categories: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , , | Leave a comment

“Prayer Habit”

DO WE HAVE A GODLY PRAYER HABIT?

Most Christians today are living in the modern materialistic world of instant mash potatoes. They pray quick little prayers like rubbing a lucky rabbits foot and they hope that is good enough, because they tell themselves, and they tell God that they don’t have time for anything more. This is a serious error, and I hope to help Christians understand why this is such a dangerous lie to live.

Perhaps you think you pray all day because you “talk to God” all day. So do I, but it is not the same thing. The flesh is always trying to pull us back into the flesh.

THE FLESH IS ALWAYS TRYING TO PULL US BACK INTO THE FLESH.

When we wake from sleeping all night, we have drifted in a fleshly direction. We need a spiritual tuning in. When we have worn ourself out working hard all day in this world’s rat race, we have drifted in a fleshly direction. The carnal world has a force of gravity of its own, and it wants to pull us back into its own orbit.

However, if we have a healthy “pull of the Spirit” in us, then we defy the pull of this world and God is the center of our orbit. Our life revolves around the Spirit and not the flesh. But how does this happen?

It happens when we drink of God’s deep presence on a regular basis. This is the true prayer habit, and habits can be hard to get established at first, but if we make the effort, a good habit will greatly reward us the rest of our life.

THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IS SUPERNATURAL, OR IT IS NOTHING AT ALL.

You cannot live this life on your own. You will fail. The devil walks about seeking whom he may devour. We all need to establish an “Hour of Power” in our life, and that is when we go into the “Holy of Holies” with God.

THE HOUR OF POWER = THE HOLY OF HOLIES.

Do not fool yourself into thinking that when you suddenly say, “Hey Jesus!”, that you are automatically ushered into the deep presence of God, especially if you rarely go there!

My plan is to write shorter articles, but write more often, so to make my point more quickly here, the Wilderness Tabernacle had three sections, or chambers, you might say. Before Christ paid our price on the cross, it was very difficult to go into the third chamber where the strong presence of God dwelt upon the Ark of the Covenant. As a matter of fact, only the high priest went in one time a year, and he did so at risk to his own life!

As kings and priest in Christ that doorway to the Holy of Holies is wide open for all of us to come, but we still do not start there! There is a gate! And then the outer court, then the Holy Place, and finally the Holy of Holies! Many times we start in the flesh when we pray! We have to make ourself pray! We are not so spiritual that we just want to pray all the time! An hour of deep prayer is not something we tend to naturally do, even though it should be! But it is proof that our flesh pulls at us and we do not start in the Holy of Holies when we “talk to God”.

Today’s point is, we need to take the time to seek God in a deep way. Not just wham bam instant mash potatoes thank you mam! If we treat God like a harlot, we live a dangerous lie. There is nothing wrong with quick prayers and talking to God all day “IF” we have not left undone the other!

MOST CHRISTIANS ARE LIVING IN THE OUTER COURT! (The outer court is symbolic of our flesh! It is where the animal sacrifices were made on the Altar of Sacrifice.)

YES, WE NEED TO TALK MORE ABOUT THIS, AND WE WILL. THIS IS PRAYER SCHOOL. THANK YOU FOR COMING.

“Why Prayer School?”

WHY PRAYER SCHOOL?

The answer to this question is so important. The Lord pointed out to me that in the average Church a new convert is offered New Convert Classes. In these classes a teacher has several lessons designed to help the new convert understand his new life in Christ. These lessons probably explain Water Baptism, The Gospel Message, how to read your Bible, be sure to pray, details about Church Membership, and Church Doctrine, but when they walk out of that New Converts Class… “Can they pray the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man?” How much hands-on experience in prayer have they had? Do they really know how to pray?

The one thing we should be sure to not leave undone, is being left undone!

If you led someone to Christ and only had time to teach them one thing, what would you choose? Teach them to pray!

It is the difference between giving them a fish and feeding them for a day, or teaching them how to fish and feeding them for a life time. The Church has got to get back to raising up real prayer warriors. Consider this scripture from James 5:16b in the Amplified Version: >

“The earnest (heart-felt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available -> dynamic in its working.”

DYNAMIC IN ITS WORKING!

Do you see that? You ask where is the power? It’s in a Church who has people able to pray that kind of prayer, and it is not just about getting all excited when you pray! BUT IT SAYS A RIGHTEOUS MAN!

Some would say we are all righteous in Christ, and that is the only kind of righteousness we can have because we are so weak in our flesh, but if that were so, then who are the people James is talking about earlier in the book? When he says that, “We have not because we ask not, and when we ask we do not receive because we ask to consume upon our LUST!” (My paraphrase.) (James chapt 4)

These people are Christians, and yet they fail to pray the kind of prayer spoke of in James 5:16. There is the righteousness we have in Christ, but there is also the righteousness of the actual lifestyle we are living. The Prophet Samuel grew up out of a Church that God labeled “Ichobod”! The glory of the Lord has departed!

The James 5:16 prayer speaks of “making tremendous power available > dynamic in its working.”

The “WHY” of Prayer School > is to pursue the ability to pray that kind of prayer, myself included. Together, we can get there.

Now back to the analogy of feeding someone for a lifetime. IF YOU DID HAVE TO CHOOSE JUST ONE THING TO TEACH YOUR STUDENT, TEACH THEM TO PRAY!

BECAUSE: I John 2:27 tells us that we really need no other teacher than the Holy Spirit in us. Prayer connects us to a constant flow of the Holy Spirit, and He will make sure we somehow learn all the things we need to know.

If the person has already gotten saved, then they understand faith. In my opinion the next most important thing that is as critical as having air to breath, is the ability to touch God when you pray, and not be ashamed of doing so.

This is just the beginning of articles on this subject of Prayer and the Holy Spirit. This will now be the predominate message of this site. This is the sense of mission I spoke of in the previous article. This is the direction my whole life is going. I did not know God was apprehending me for a “mission” when a disk ruptured in my back at the beginning of this year, but now that I know, I’M ON IT!

HOPE YOU COME BACK FOR MORE. IF YOU LIVE IN INDIANAPOLIS, PLEASE CHECK US OUT! MY EMAIL IS AVAILABLE FOR THE ASKING.

THE GOAL IS TO BE ABLE TO PRAY THE JAMES 5:16 PRAYER.

When we get enough people doing that on a regular basis, THE IMPOSSIBLE WILL BE POSSIBLE ON A REGULAR BASIS!

PRAISE GOD! WELCOME TO PRAYER SCHOOL!

DIVERGENT > “A Sense of Mission”

0515041436a0515041438

A SENSE OF MISSION.  EVER HAD ONE?

Our quote for today from the book “Divergent” comes from chapter 37 and page 469 and 470. Trise surprises herself as she lays her life on the line to save others and defeat Erudite. She realizes she has taken on what is probably a suicide mission and did not even realize she was doing it, until she was already committed, and that is the way it can be with a real mission that grips your heart.

Today I am combining this article on Divergent along with the mission I have undertaken to develop a “Prayer School” in Indianapolis. This room used to be our living room and it was in bad shape from too much abuse. Now it is becoming “Prayer School”, and I have not even gone back to work yet, as I am trying my best to get this up and running before I do.

IS THERE SACRIFICE INVOLVED? OF COURSE THERE IS. IT WOULDN’T BE MUCH OF A MISSION WITHOUT SACRIFICE.

But here is our two quotes from DIVERGENT: > “If I go up into the building, I probably won’t come back down. The best I can hope for is to destroy the simulation before someone kills me. When did I decide on this suicide mission? Why wasn’t it more difficult?”

WHY WASN’T IT MORE DIFFICULT?

I love that question because it reveals how a vision, mission, or need can so grip you that your heart leaps in without even asking permission.  All I have been able to think about since getting this vision for a Prayer School is the mission. I am consumed by it. New drywall has been hung where needed. All walls have new paint, including the ceiling. I now have the hardwood floor laid but not yet fastened down. Soon I will be starting on trim work. It has been a big job and it’s still not done. The entry way needs new flooring also, and the fire pit area needs a privacy fence put up. I can’t afford to hire any of this done, so if this is to be, then I got to do it. We are in Faith Forward Motion and steadily progressing.

ON PAGE 470 TRISE ADDS THESE DETAILS: > “My head pounds. I haven’t eaten; I haven’t slept; I haven’t sobbed or screamed or even paused for a moment.”

EVER BEEN THERE? Usually a mission is also a “burden”. In the movie “Freedom Writers”, the dad tells his school teacher daughter that she has been “blessed with a burden”, and he said he envied her for that.

Yes, a burden that burns in your belly like a mission can be a blessing. Passion, vision, purpose, a sense of something greater than yourself; I consider all these things to be a blessing. A life that has never known such things, and never paid a personal price for such things, is a life greatly lacking.

I thank God for this “Prayer School” burden and vision. On page 476 Trise remembers that her dad used to say: There is power in self-sacrifice. Jesus showed us that power and set our example. His love and power still lives today.

DIVERGENT > “Truth?”

ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END?

Actually I have two more books to read! And I am really glad because I am very much enjoying this story! I must say the final pages of this book gave me some really good material to ponder and write about. For one, I am actually daring to believe there is a Christian message to this story! And I love the way it simply slowly evolves into the plot without arousing too much attention, but yet there it is, values, ideas, and words that line up with the Bible.

As we write our last few articles on this book, I would like to continue using certain quotes that I find very interesting and thought-provoking. I don’t know about you, but I enjoy a story that triggers contemplation. It causes me to stop reading for a minute, and chase that thought down a rabbit trail where the author is not currently going, but I NEED to further pursue this thought! I love it, and it gives me things to write about, not only here, but in my own journals that I read over and over again. So here is the quote I want to start with today.

CHAPTER 35 PAGE 441 (In my book.) > “Human beings as a whole cannot be good for long before the bad creeps back in and poisons us again.”

Wow, is that not true and very sad at the same time? And yet, is it not the reality we all must learn to live in? This is where we live. There is no other place to go, and this is the reality of where we live. Of course, that does not mean we have to become the way the “world as a whole” is. We can be DIVERGENT. We can choose a better way.

Just because the world “outside” of us may be one way, does not mean the world “inside” of us must be that way.

A STRUGGLE? For sure. I’m not saying it is always easy, but it is always right! Are we strong enough to take up such a challenge? To be divergent in a good way? Planet earth is certainly a battle between good and evil, but which side are you on? Tris found herself in a world turning upside down as she watched her friends rising from their beds as ZOMBIES! But she still had her right mind to be able to choose!

Tris rises from her bed to follow the ZOMBIES and discovers the horrible plot of another evil person who wants to have more power, and she does not care who she has to use of kill in her path to do so! It was very hard to put the book down during this time. My mind pictured the whole battle as Tris struggled to survive and yet somehow stop this evil horror and try to save her loved ones who were dropping like flies! Her mother dies trying to save her, Tobias has been taken over by the enemy, and her whole faction, both of them, are in grave danger! Tris even found herself in a room ready to be drowned! Wow! How does a person stay focused when you feel like you are stuck in a nightmare and you are not dreaming?

QUOTE: CHAPTER 35 PAGE 441 > “Every faction conditions its members to think and act a certain way. And most people do it. For most people, it’s not hard to learn, to find a pattern of thoughts that works and stay that way. But our minds move in a dozen different directions. We can’t be confined to one way of thinking, and that terrifies our leaders. It means we can’t be controlled.”

Of course, as humans, we all are DIVERGENT. God made us that way. We have minds capable of thinking through and making right choices. So the question actually becomes, WHO IS RIGHT?

JESUS SAID: IT IS THE TRUTH THAT SETS US FREE.

No one is free when they are deceived. No one is free when they know the truth but still choose to live in the lie.

For me, the very first question I need an answer to is: AM I A SPIRIT BEING, OR JUST FLESH AND BLOOD, AN ANIMAL.

THE BIBLE SAYS I AM A SPIRIT BEING.

Now if you think about it, if that is what is TRUE, and JESUS said it is, then we all have the choice to just fall in line with the way the world wants us to think, or we can decide to live a life based on being a spirit being who will one day enter an eternity we know very little about, UNLESS the BIBLE is exactly what it claims to be.

I am totally convinced the Bible is exactly what it claims to be. I AM DIVERGENT. I do not follow the herd mentality of this world. I am in the minority. I am greatly out numbered. Peer pressure is always against me. But I see the direction this world is going. A one-world government shall arise just like the Bible says. I will likely be a Public Enemy #1 someday. I can identify with this book I have enjoyed. I have much more to write about the final pages of this book, but for now I think we have enough to think about.
